SÃO PAULO, Feb. 21, 2019 /PRNewswire/ — Global communications and IT services provider CenturyLink, Inc. (NYSE: CTL) received two additional ISO certifications for its data centers in Latin America. Certifications confirm adherence to the strictest information technology policies.

Certifications:

  • ISO/IEC 27001:2013 Certification for Information Security Management Systems for the services provided in its data centers in Buenos Aires, Santiago, Lima, Quito and Bogotá (Colombia XV and SUBA).
  • ISO/IEC 27017:2015 Code of Practice for Information Security Controls for cloud services, which includes a compliance statement for the services provided in its data centers in Bogotá (Colombia XV), Colombia.

  • These certifications are an extension of the ISO 27001 certificate and ISO 27017 compliance statement issued for São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro data centers in 2016.
  • Valid for one year, ISO/IEC 27017:2015 and ISO/IEC 27001:2013 were approved after an audit of data center processes and infrastructure, conducted by TÜV Rheinland, a provider of technical, safety and certification services. TÜV Rheinland evaluated various security controls applied to the services and infrastructure of those data centers.
  • CenturyLink operates more than 360 data centers worldwide, 18 of which are located in Latin America.
  • CenturyLink’s data centers host both CenturyLink’s and customers’ IT environments, and are managed by an on-site team of specialized technicians.

New construction model optimizes energy and space efficiencies

SANTIAGO, Chile, Dec. 11, 2018 /PRNewswire/ — Global communications and IT provider CenturyLink, Inc. (NYSE: CTL) is expanding its broad regional offering of colocation, hosting, cloud computing, security, collaboration, communications and managed services for its existing and new customers by launching a new energy and space efficient data center in Chile.

“Located in Huechuraba, north of the Chilean capital, Santiago, and in proximity to customers, the new facility has 24×7 availability, next-generation security systems and is energy and space efficient through the use of an innovative construction model,” said Gabriel del Campo, vice president, data center and security, CenturyLink Latin America. “Using a modular construction model, we were able to have the facility operational in less time — an important benefit to customers eager to take advantage of our data center services.”

Chile’s new data center integrates with CenturyLink’s 18 other data centers in Latin America, as well as the company’s broad global infrastructure, by providing direct connectivity to CenturyLink’s approximately 450,000 route miles of fiber globally.

Extending approximately 2,300 kilometers, the new route connects cities between Fortaleza, CE and Salvador, BA.

CenturyLink’s already established infrastructure concentrated in Fortaleza, CE, serves as a connection point between its terrestrial and submarine cables, providing direct connectivity to its approximately 720,000 kilometers of fiber routes globally.
