Cirion recognized for its commitment to LGBT+ equality

Distinction was granted by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation and the LGBT+ Public Policies Institute in Argentina, as part of the second edition of HRC Equidad AR, from the “Global program for equality in the workplace”.

BUENOS AIRES, July 10th, 2023 –  Cirion Technologies, a leading provider of digital infrastructure and technology, was once more recognized for its commitment to LGBT+ equality, in the second edition of HRC Equidad AR, part of the “Global program for equality in the workplace” implemented in the country by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation and the LGBT+ Public Policies Institute.

HRC Equidad AR is a national benchmarking tool for LGBT+ inclusion practices and policies, inspired in the Human Rights Campaign’s Corporate Equality Index (CEI).

“We are committed to sustainable and socially responsible growth, creating a positive impact in the community through programs connected to diversity, equality and inclusion, among others,” says Cintia Fernandez, Cirion’s Human Resources Director for the Southern Cluster.  “Recognitions like this make us proud, inspiring and motivating us to follow this path to play our part in making the world a better place.”

Cirion Technologies has more than 2,000 employees in Latin America (more than 500 in Argentina), who employ great professionalism and passion in supporting customers’ transformation paths through the company’s technology.  As part of this open and respectful culture towards diversity, Cirion has an employee LGBT+ affinity group called “Circle of Trust” – a network that counts on the participation of different countries in the region.

According to the results gathered by the HRC Equidad AR survey, in 62% of the companies surveyed, LGBT+ individuals occupy mid and senior management positions.   Additionally, 74% of mid-sized organizations have LGBT+ affinity groups in which individuals who are a reference in the community, as well as allies, outline business agendas to promote more open and inclusive workplaces.

About the recognition

The program, structured according to the research and subsequent analysis of data obtained, is part of the project HRC develops in Latin America and counts on three other initiatives developed in the region: Equality MX, Equality CL, and Equality Brazil.

In its second edition, more than 75 companies and organizations took part, sharing their LGBT+ diversity and inclusion practices and policies throughout 2022.

When compared to 2022’s results, this year:

  • Companies participated 43% more, from 53 companies in 2022 to 76 in 2023.
  • There was a 22% increase in the number of people directly affected by inclusion programs, reaching 102,177.
  • The number of organizations that obtained the certification more than doubled, increasing 123%.
  • For the first time, public entities and sectorial organizations participated, such as the Chamber of Deputies of the Nation, the Buenos Aires City Legislature, the Franco-Argentine Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the Chamber of Deputies of the Province of Santa Fe.
